Still waiting for final word!

Waiting has become a great skill of mine. I am starting to feel a little like Job, but I know there is good news just on the horizon which I will be able to share in a day or so.

Travelled to Alexandria to meet this past Friday with Bishop David Jones. He was wonderful! What a great hour and a half...which left me so very excited about heading North.

At 6pm (Friday evening) I met with the Vestry of hopefully my new parish. We enjoyed a wonderful meal (more in a minute there) and about three hours of conversation. It was comprehensive but hopefully will lead to my hearing some good news from them on Tuesday. I have had phone interviews, search committee interviews, Episcopal/Bishop interviews and vestry interviews. I think everyone has a good idea of who I am.

I left around 4am to drive to meet with the Bishop at 9:30am on Friday and I departed the vestry meeting around 10pm and returned to Shrinemont (Orkney Springs, VA) at around 2am. (I got slightly lost on both ends of the trip). What a long day.

Enjoyed the weekend with the wonderful people of Grace Episcopal Church, Alexandria, where Caroline works. What a fun parish weekend...and the follies on Saturday night were a riot. It will be fund to be a clergy spouse in this great parish. Fr Bob Malm, the rector there, seems to be terrific....inspiring preaching...great person of faith!

God is good....makes the whole waiting thing a piece of cake.
Hopefully some good news soon.
